Monday, November 14, 2011 - An investigation is underway into the shooting deaths of a local filmmaker and his wife, co-founders of the Ruby Mountain Film Festival in Elko. 48-year-old Kurt Stefka and his wife, Stacie, 42, were found head in their Spring Creek home suffering gunshot wounds after an apparent struggle over a firearm. Sheriff's spokesman Jim Carpenter said early investigation points to murder suicide as authorities further analyze a 911 call and ballistics evidence.
