Sagebrush Sculpure and Time Capsule Installation - The City of Elko is still accepting items for the sesquicentennial time capsule that will be placed inside the Sagebrush Sculpture to be installed next week. Photographs, programs and small objects that reflect civic, business, school and family life are being set aside for future citizens.

UNR Bell Dedication
UNR Bell Dedication - Elko's Rotary Clubs, UNR and Great Basin College will preside over celebration ceremonies Wednesday as the historic bell that summoned students to the first Nevada University is reinstalled on College Avenue in Elko. Historian Jan Petersen explains the event will mark the completion of the Nevada 150 Legacy Project commemorating the state sesquicentennial. Video Video

Early Voting - More than 300 votes were cast in the first hours of Early Voting now underway at the Elko Convention Center. Elko County Clerk Carol Fosmo said turnout has been steady as registered city and county voters take adevantage of extended hours to cast ballots leading up to the final contest on November 4th.
