Education in the state is high on the list for most Nevada Lawmakers this legislative session. With no new revenue in an already depressed budget, there is much positioning by those working to protect K-12 and Higher Education funding. Assemblyman James Healy, a Las Vegas Democrat, was among a handful of lawmakers to meet with rural students on Education Day in Carson City, an encounter he says makes a difference.
