Elko County Jail Crowded
Overcrowding at the Elko County Jail has officials looking at creative sentencing while at the same time planning for an expansion. Undersheriff Clair Morris says an increase in serious crimes and backlog in the courts has led to an incarceration overload, prisoners are sleeping on the floor, not a long term solution as the county is growing in population.
