Wednesday, November 16, 2011 - The Fire Science Academy closure will impact Elko area revenue with the withdrawal of thousands of student visitors, spending money on lodging, food, shopping and recreation. Elko Convention and Visitors Authority Executive Director Don Newman says the agency will work cooperatively to fill the rooms through other means if possible.
