Homicide Victim Needs Identified -
The Elko County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a murdered man whose gunshot body was found wrapped in a sheet and left at a rest stop near Jackpot. Undersheriff Clair Morris said the body was discovered Sunday, February 2, but that authorities waited to notify the public as they followed leads in the case. The victim is described as a Hispanic male, 5’ 7”, 160 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. The victim was barefoot, wearing sweat pants, green shirt and light green hoodie. Investigators say it appears the body was left up to 24-hours after the victim was killed elsewhere. Authorities have not released details about the type of gun used except to say the victim was shot multiple times. Anyone with information is asked to call the Elko County Sheriff’s Office at (775) 738-3421.
