Homicide on Old Hot Springs Road -
On June 15, 2012 at approximately 0130 hours, officers from the Elko Police Department were dispatched to an address on Old Hot Springs Rd. on a report of a gun shots in the area. When officer arrived, they found a 31 year old female who was the victim of what appears to be a single gunshot wound.
The Suspect, (22yoa) Matthew Deacon of Winnemucca was taken into custody and booked into the Elko County Jail on an open murder charge.
The Victim’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
