New City Police Station Needed Elko City's finest are being housed in anything but fine quarters. Elko Police Detectives have been displaced from basement offices with the discovery of mold creeping from the foundation, plumbing has gone bad and it costs thousands of dollars a month to heat the secondhand College Avenue building that was first constructed as a church in 1950. Mayor Chris Johnson says a new police station is a priority in the New Year.
