Ted McBride Honored at El Aero
Hundreds filled the El Aero airport hangar to honor an Elko pilot described as the "John Wayne," of the skies and a "really great guy." Ted McBride was remembered as a skilled aviator, a loyal employee and a good-natured friend to a "world of people." McBride was killed in a helicopter crash while on a reseeding operation for the BLM. The accident happened near Ely on February 18. McBride was 74.
