Winter Driving with the Nevada Highway Patrol
Snowfall amounts varied from two or more inches in the Elko-area to more than seven inches throughout Northern Elko County, about a foot or more of fresh snow in and around the glacier-carved Ruby Mountains.  With all this fresh snow comes a crash course in safe winter driving.  Trooper Jim Stewart reminds that with any snowfall driving turns slippery, no matter what you drive, slow down.
